The Power of Perspective

The Power of Perspective

Staying Focused on the Bigger Picture

When we’re in the trenches, it can be easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. We get so focused on the specific tasks, and associated issues in front of us, we can easily miss the forest for the trees. We lack Perspective.

I’ve found it takes time, and experience, to learn how to work from a place of Perspective. To be, by default, “zoomed out.”

I’ve been known to have emotional reactions to situations in the past. Still do. But I also have learned a more productive way to deal with challenges that arise.

Breath In.
Zoom Out.
See Through.

And I ask myself: “Will it matter 5 years from now?” That’s become a benchmark I use when considering how I need to handle a situation. To offer Perspective.

What upcoming decision do you have where you may need a shift in Perspective?
